When he arrived in Australia he worked with an American company involved in pipeline construction on various power stations – Bayswater, Loy Yang B, Employed as Production Manager. Then in 1984 he commenced trading as Chanfield, focusing the company on manufacturing precision-machined components.
For the railways, many of the parts we manufacture have further processes that involve molybonding, anodising, heat treatment, plating and specialised paint finishes. Machine capacity comprises of 4 CNC lathes – Swing 480 X 850 Long. Capacity 4 X Machining Centre and these have been increased to Y2100 x X1100 x Z1110. Currently we are preparing to implement ISO9001 – Quality Management and ISO14001 Environment Management Systems and envisage these processes to be fully functional by 2015. We also have manual lathes for jobbing work.
